The Congregation of Claretian Missionary Fathers also called Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary)was founded on July 16, 1849 by St. Anthony Mary Claret, in Spain. At present, there are over 3000 Claretians working in more than 65 countries. On fire with love for God in Jesus Christ and fellow human beings, they engage in pastoral, social and educational endeavors for the promotion of human life and dignity. In India, there are over 600 Claretians working in 18 states. They serve the poor and the marginalized through pastoral and spiritual animation, educational endeavors, care for the leprosy-affected, drug addicts, AIDS patients, ex-prisoners, the blind, the differentially-abled, tribals and dalits. In India, they run more than 30 educational institutions, which include schools, colleges and institutes of higher learning.
Claret High School ,Sahanagar, is one of the education institutions of Claretians .This school was started in the year 2002 with the aim of providing value based quality education to the people of locality. From the very first batch onwards our students have excelled in the acdemics, curricular and co-curricular activities. Every year cent percent result is a record achievement. In the current academic year, there are 984 students on the roll, from Nursery to Class X. They are well guided and nurtured by the competent faculty. Claret School is situated about 10 k.m. from Memari in the District of Purba Burdwan in West Bengal. A spacious campus and serene atmosphere is one of it's special features. Claretian Society runs the Hostel facility for all Students of Boys and Girls. Claret High School strives to form intellectually competent, professionally skilled, spiritually evolved, morally upright, , socially responsive and culturally tolerant citizens, through holistic claretian Education for the creation of a civilization of love.
The aim of the school is to give its pupils a sound moral education while devoting special attention to their spiritual, intellectual, social and physical development. The school is affiliated to the CISCE; (affiliation no. WB332) and prepare students for the Board’s examinations in Class X and XII.
