Claret School at Sahanagar was established in the year 2002 by the Claretian Society , registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act-1967.
The School is affiliated to council for Indian School Certificate Examinations,New Delhi.It is a coeducational school with english as the medium of instruction.A standard of English is a must for success in examninations.Therefore ,only English is the campus language.Due importance is also given to Bengali and Hindi in the curicullum. The School is administered by the codeof regulations for the Anglo-Indian Schools in West Bengal.
Saint Antony Maria Claret , the Founder of Claret ian Congregation,was born in Salient,Spain,on 23rd December 1807.He was brought up in a devotedly religious family and thus developed a deep devotion to Mother Mary.
He, along with other five like-minded priests,founded the Congragation of the Missionaries Sons of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 16th July 1849.He lived as an inspiring child,artistic youth,industrious teextile industrialist,itinerant preacher,caring physician,merciful father,lover of the poor,humble missionary,unasssuming Archbishop and thus a man on fire with God's love. He reached the heavenly adobe on 24th October 1870,which is celebrated as his Feast Day.
